News Revolution: I was stamping around at Christine’s studio, and then Claudia said, why can't we make a newspaper and I said yes. Everybody drew one page and we made things we could stick on there. Christine made the front page, I made the second page—with the writing—and Claudia made the third page. And for the back of the third page, I made a “Revolution” sticker.

“Richard is Afraid of the Slide” is a stop motion film about a boy who is afraid to go on the slide at his favorite playground. I help him.

It is a short film, but I made everything on five evenings, including the music.

Mifune

Mifune
June 2009

I wanted to paint a gigantic monster, but after turning it around, it ended up looking like Mifune's face. I like it both ways.

Bleeding Sofa

Bleeding Sofa
December 2008

A Chinese Warrior who stuck a sword into our sofa. That's why it's bleading. I made the blood by flooding the paint on the paper.

For Ariko.

“Tommy and the Giant” is a puppet theater about a little boy who jumped three times and met the Giant Robert. With their friend Eliza, they find a skeleton named Flipsy, Giant Robert's cousin.

Mommy and I made the puppets, and I made up the story for my Grandma's birthday.

Leaves

Mein Blatt am Baum ist sehr schön,

obwohl es Winter ist.

Es ist immer noch grün,

obwohl es Winter ist.

Ich pflücke es nie, damit es immer noch schöner und schöner wird.

April 2008

I was in mommy's and daddy's bed and looked out the window. I saw a little leaf and it was still April, but the leaf was still green. I just saw the leaf and then everything jumped out of my mouth. I really like it.

Berry Eater

Berry Eater
December 2007

I made it with John. I only wanted to make a puzzle of a boat, but then I saw that the sails looked like the beak of a bird, so we made a bird out of my boat.

Stars

Stars are in the air

And they are white.

They look like paper.

October 2007

I wrote this poem when I went to Saint Ann's. Back then I thought that stars were folded out of paper.

How a gigantic bird ate the little bee, but it made Bzzzzzt, Bzzzzt and jumped out again.

I made this with Melissa, my babysitter in New York when I was four years old and Melissa twenty-two.

Pirate Me

Pirate Me
2006

Me as a pirate. When I painted the face, I ran out of paint, so I left it as cheeks.

I painted this when I went to Washington Market.
